Screenmediamag.com exists to provide everyone in the value chain of screen media, digital signage, digital out-of-home and convergent media with informed, non-partisan news, information resources and advice on making the most of this sector’s boundless opportunities.

The site was originally founded in 2008 under the name of SCREENS.tv and was relaunched as Screenmediamag.com in February 2011. It is produced by St John Patrick, a London-based publisher of B2B magazines and Websites.

Our editorial policy: Screenmediamag.com is largely written by professional journalists specialising in media, marketing, advertising and technology. Unlike many other Websites, we never publish raw press releases or other PR material – everything you read here has been evaluated, sanity-checked and researched by our team. (Except, of course, for blogs and other pieces clearly marked as opinion.)

We have close ties with Screenmedia Magazine, a printed magazine also from the St John Patrick stable, and with Screenmedia Expo, the annual London exhibition and conference for the sector. But all three are editorially independent, so you may find them contradicting one another.

Getting your news published: Because of our editorial process and the speed of change in the digital out-of-home sector, we can’t possibly cover every new product, network rollout, etcetera. We try, instead, to pick those stories which illuminate broader trends or look likely to have a significant long-term impact.

But that doesn’t mean your time is wasted in sending your news to Screenmediamag.com. Far from it. Everything that comes in gets read, and even if it isn’t used today, it may well result in editorial coverage of your company in the future. Please send your news to the editor.

Our forward-features list: There isn’t one.

Contributing to Screenmediamag.com: We are always happy to consider publishing opinion pieces from experienced individuals in digital out-of-home and related businesses. The ideal piece will (a) be around 6-700 words long, (b) make a coherent and non-obvious point about some aspect of the sector, (c) not preach to the converted (our readers already know this medium’s a good thing; they don’t need to be persuaded), and (d) not be published anywhere else.

Please send submissions, or outlines, to the editor. And please don’t be afraid to be controversial, or to criticise.

We have very few opportunities for paid freelance contributors but if you have particular expertise in this sector, and especially if you’re based somewhere other than western Europe or North America, we’re happy to hear from you. Again, contact the editor.

Corrections and complaints: We try not to get things wrong, but it happens. If you spot an error in a Screenmediamag.com story, or you think we’ve been unfair, please contact the editor. It’s nearly always possible to fix the damage.

Advertising, sponsorship and other commercial opportunities: Please see our Advertise page.

Copyright: Everything we publish is copyright. Having said that, if you want to use excerpts in marketing or educational materials, that’s cool, but please acknowledge Screenmediamag.com. Copying whole stories and posting them to your blog or Website without acknowledgement is definitely not cool. Our Terms of use page says this in a more lawyerly way.
