Stadium places largest-ever Daktronics LED order
Daktronics has landed the largest order in its history from the developers of a U.S. football stadium.
The $45m contract to supply LED displays to the New York Giants' and Jets' new Meadowlands facility in East Rutherford, New Jersey, will see Daktronics providing both interior and exterior screens.
The largest units will be 103-by-30-foot displays at each corner of the stadium to be watched by fans during games, employing Daktronics' new HD-X technology.
Also featured will be vertical displays at entrances, four marquees aimed at passers-by, and smaller screens in ticket windows. Each display will run on a separate channel, allowing Meadowlands management to vary the sports content, promotional messaging and sponsors' branding shown.
Daktronics currently has installations at 26 of the 31 U.S. National Football League stadia.
The 82,500-seater Meadowlands stadium is slated to open its doors the autumn of 2010.
