Fashion mall projects promotions onto fog
Finland’s FogScreen has won the first retail customer for its innovative display which projects images onto a see-through fog of minuscule droplets.
The Ideapark Commercial City Catwalk in the Finnish city of Lempäälä switched on the 3m-long display this weekend. Among the 20 retailers in the fashion-oriented shopping centre are Tommy Hilfiger and Timberland.
FogScreen images are translucent, projected onto a fog that is composed of tiny droplets of ordinary tap water and yet feels dry to the touch. The screen can even be walked through.
The company, which has been marketing FogScreen for five years, now says it will develop further incarnations of the FogScreen for use in-store and in mall walkways.
