Phoenix is sixth city for DCSI network
U.S. digital-signage operator Digital Consumer Solutions is moving into new territory with the extension of its network to Phoenix, Arizona.
The network will build upon existing deployments in Fresno, California and Portland, Oregon, which were installed in the first half of 2008, and recent rollouts in Washington
, Los Angeles and New Orleans, says the Tempe, Arizona-based firm, previously known as PhiMedia.
Plans call for the Phoenix deployments to mirror the existing ones, with remotely-networked 42-inch LCD screens installed in convenience stores, fast-food restaurants and liquor outlets.
As in DCSI’s other cities, the Phoenix screens will carry a mix of advertising, news feeds, weather updates and specially-commissioned content, delivered by Internet or satellite.
DCSI says it plans to also include content from local nonprofit groups.
Channels available on the DCSI network include LiquidMedia (for convenience stores) and the Entree Channel (for grocery outlets).
