Things look like getting very interesting this year in the British digital outdoor market.
As we report this week, CBS Outdoor – already one of the country’s most credible players in digital out-of-home, thanks to its pioneering London Underground network – is launching its first digital billboard in Britain. Digital outdoor in the UK is still pretty much dominated by high-profile London sites, like this CBS one, but if the firm moves on to apply to Britain its U.S. model of a nationwide digital network, that could do a lot for the medium’s visibility.
Meanwhile, Amscreen – as we report in the same story – also looks set to take the digital message outdoor, with trials of digital six-sheets in petrol stations. The company has a track record of rolling out large networks very quickly and we won’t be surprised if it’s the biggest digital outdoor operator in Britain, by number of locations, quite soon.
Other interesting new stories on the site include the operator selling advertising on a multinational network ofhotel room screens, plus a B2B retail digital signage rollout aimed at plumbers – and don’t forget to check back regularly for updates.
