Swedish digital-signage software company DISE Display Evolution and its Turkish reseller Pronova have signed multiple contracts covering thousands of screens at locations across Turkey.

They are the latest big installations in a Turkish screen-media market which is unofficially estimated to be worth around $4m annually, and expected to rise rapidly toward $40m in 2010.

Other recent developments in Turkey include DeMeedya's expansion of its Pharmacy Channel network, Digiboard's presence in airports and shopping malls, and a dedicated digital-signage area last year at MarketingIST, the largest marketing trade fair in the country.

In the case of Turkish bank Isbank, the DISE deal incorporates 2000 screens, including a number of ATMs where ad content is used as a screen-saver, and Internet banking stations known as Netmatiks.

Also with DISE, mobile-phone operator Turkcell is looking to equip 1600 screens at 1200 locations, and household-appliance manufacturer Arcelik is set to install an in-store network using DISE technology.

Volkan Tekin, head of Pronova, told Screenmediamag.com that his company originally developed digital-signage software, but moved into content creation and distribution when it discovered the DISE platform, and subsequently became a reseller.

Thanks to growth in the nascent Turkish market, Tekin expects to double his digital-signage sales this year.

Many of DISE's installations have historically been in the Nordic region -- for example, the network for telco Telia .

But according to Tobias Ekmark, sales and marketing manager for DISE Display Evolution, the Swedish company is looking to expand to further territories, with recruiting experienced resellers a priority.

DISE currently has around 20 resellers worldwide.
