Screens help manage queues in phone stores

Canadian mobile-phone operator Wind Mobile is rolling out an in-store screen network as it develops its retail presence across the country.

Screens are going into the Wind Mobile kiosks located in Blockbuster video stores, as well as into Wind’s own branded outlets. Applications include queue management and promotion of Wind’s services.

Wind is also reportedly using Microsoft Surface multitouch technology for in-store interactive units.

The firm, with the same ultimate ownership as the Italian network of the same name, currently has most of its outlets in Ontario and a few in Alberta. British Columbia is understood to be next on its expansion schedule.

Wind Mobile’s digital signage is driven by Adflow Networks’ DMS system.
