Digital out-of-home specialist ComQi is to invest heavily in developing further mobile technologies, following the launch of its software suite for interaction with retail digital signage.
The firm, formed last year by the merger of EnQii and Minicom, has raised unspecified “additional funding” from its four existing investors as well as a $3m bank facility.
CEO Ajay Chowdhury (pictured) said the funds would be used to expand ComQi’s range of mobile technologies.
It recently introduced four applications: Voting, Information and Couponing, Group Buying, Quizzes and Games. Consumers’ handsets can connect via a URL, a QR code, or NFC to the ComQi Interaction Manager which drives them.
Said Chowdhury: “These new applications enable brands and retailers to engage in a conversation with their customers on the go, establishing and reinforcing a relationship complemented by social networks.”
