Digital out-of-home events: Screenmedia Expo Europe promises pitch-free learning

Screenmedia Expo Europe learning programme

Organisers of May’s Screenmedia Expo Europe have signed up the first speakers for the London event’s free-to-attend learning programme.

“We’re looking forward to building on the success of last year’s education programme,” said show director Mark Pigou, promising “no sales pitches or repetitive speeches”.

The programme is structured around four channels: Connected Screenmedia, Connected Content, Interactive Connection and Smart Connections.

Speakers lined up so far include:

  • Nikki Baird, managing partner at RSR Research
  • Chris Gorell Barnes, CEO of Adjust Your TV
  • Steve Cox, marketing director at JCDecaux Airport
  • Giovanni Flore, Benetton Live Windows project manager at Fabrica
  • Jeremy Gavin, CEO and head content chef at Screenfeed
  • Tim Huckaby, chairman and founder of InterKnowlogy and Actus Interactive Software
  • Carolyn Nugent, head of UK digital at Kinetic Worldwide
  • Danielle Pinnington, managing director of Shoppercentric
  • Alfio Pozzoni, director of research and innovation at Fabrica
  • Nancy Radermecher, president of John Ryan
  • Paul Skeldon, editor of M-Retailing
  • Rob Thurner, mobile marketing consultant, trainer and speaker
  • Bruno Zamborlin, of Goldsmiths College, London and Ircam Centre Pompidou, Paris

Others are expected to come from Clear Channel, Grand Visual, Intel, iTaxiTop, Ogilvy Digital Labs, Smartbomb, and Total Immersion.

“We’re optimistic that this will be a record year for the expo as market growth is looking positive – digital OOH has moved well beyond the experimental stage and into the mainstream as a credible part of the media mix. With the Olympics looming, there are likely to be many exciting showcase opportunities to watch out for,” said Pigou.

Screenmedia Expo Europe runs 16-17 May at Earls Court.
