Digital signage for airports: Tokyo Narita debuts Japan’s largest single-site network

Tokyo’s Narita International Airport has switched on what is claimed to be Japan’s largest single-location digital signage network, with a total of 336 screens used to create 100 displays.

The airport reportedly invested JPY800m ($10m) in the network supplied by Mitsubishi Electric.

It shows relaxing nature imagery and traditional Japanese arts as well as more typical content such as airport information, entertainment and advertising.

The largest display, in Terminal 2, measures 9.6m wide by 1.9m high.

It is closely followed by four giant 27-screen displays in Terminal 1, measuring 9.2x1.7m apiece.
