400,000 see Kuala Lumpur bus screens daily
Kuala Lumpur is the latest city where digital-signage operators have realised the audience potential of bus travellers. Around 2000 19-inch screens have been installed on 1055 buses, offering commuters and leisure travellers a 30-minute audiovisual loop of custom content, mini-advertorials and advertisements.
Asia Media, the firm responsible for installing the screens and provisioning the content on the Transnet narrowcasting network, says that around 400,000 people a day 
Signagelive blends stored content with live streaming
Three UK technology companies have collaborated to create a new system that allows combinations of stored and live media sources to be displayed simultaneously on-screen.
Digital-signage software specialist Remote Media worked with Garland Partners to integrate Teracue encoders into Remote Media’s Signagelive platform.

Future TV to move beyond Future Group properties
Future Media, the owner of India’s in-store network Future TV, plans to have 10,000 screens by the end of this year. It is the latest firm to hatch ambitious rollout plans as India’s economy surges and its retail sector modernizes.
Launched in July last year with 222 screens in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, Future TV currently has a network of more than 1000 screens in Future Group 
DPN plans expansion, measures response
The Digital Promo Network in the U.S., which launched last summer and is currently installed in 500 convenience stores, is to be extended to a further 1500 stores by the summer of 2009.
According to Brian Dusho, chief strategy officer with BroadSign, the company’s software is allowing DPN’s advertisers to schedule their own in-store video spots using a carefully targeted approach for each location.

Arial Way takes stake in new-media firm, prepares network
Ariel Way, a Florida-based media-technology company founded in 2004, has taken a 10 percent stake in FaceTime Strategy, a Washington, D.C.-headquartered new-media firm.
The deal will give Ariel Way – which is transitioning itself from a corporate video-network firm into a new-media services company – a direct line into a firm offering blogs, podcasts, videos and, of course, digital signage.
